Rowan Pump Station - Wednesday, August 2 - 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm ET
$45.00 per person - Capacity is limited to 25 people
Louisville MSD’s Rowan Pump Station – one of the deepest submersible pump stations in the United States – is a 40-foot internal diameter, 225-foot-deep shaft with a firm pumping capacity of 50 million gallons per day. This pump station utilizes twelve (12) Xylem/Flygt pumps: ten (10) 250HP, 2849 GPM Main Pumps and two (2) 160HP, 1030 GPM Grit Pumps to dewater Louisville MSD’s Waterway Protection Tunnel – a 4 mile long, 20-foot internal diameter structure built 200-feet below Louisville. The Rowan Pump Station is prominently situated within the boundaries of Waterfront Development Corp’s future Waterfront Park Phase IV Expansion and features an award-winning architectural façade design to compliment the award-winning park. Construction of this project took approximately two years and costs $25 million.
