Dr. Vatsal Shah is Past-President of NJSPE ('17-18), a member of the NSPE DEI Committee, and is a practicing civil engineer. In his nearly 15 years of professional experience, Vatsal has committed much of his available free time in the future STEM community, with over 13 years of involvement in the MATHCOUNTS Competition Program, as well as several Engineers Week activities. Vatsal has been an Adjunct Professor and Faculty Fellow at two local universities teaching courses in civil engineering, and was awarded NSPE's Young Engineer of the Year for 2019. Across his parallel career paths as a practicing engineer, volunteer, and professor, Vatsal's experience and background has uniquely position him to provide valuable insight to the opportunities which successful and motivated young engineers are drawn toward to help them succeed. Vatsal looks forward to continue moving the prominence of the engineering community, and creating an inclusive working environment which will enable all generations and workforces to collaboratively move our profession forward!
